Lifetime has announced the new movie How She Caught a Killer about a rookie police detective who goes undercover to catch a serial killer targeting sex workers.
Grey’s Anatomy alum Sarah Drew leads the cast as Detective Linda Murphy. Eric Keenleyside (Godzilla, Welcome to Marwen) co-stars as lead detective David Goodman and Jamall Johnson (Robin Roberts Presents: Mahalia) plays FBI agent Neil Carter.
According to the official description, Murphy is fresh out of the police academy when she hears her boss talking about a serial killer. She teams up with the FBI and fights to go undercover to help solve the murders. Delilah Hamlin also stars as a former sex worker and aspiring nurse who is the killer’s first victim.

Part of Lifetime’s “Ripped From the Headlines” franchise, the film is inspired by real events.
Robin Hays directs from a script by Yuri Baranovsky and Angela Gulner. The movie is produced for Lifetime by Suspense Productions and Tiny Riot.
Sarah Drew executive produces as part of her overall movie deal with the network. Additional executive producers include Tim Johnson, Stacy Mandelberg, and Jason Egenberg.
Drew previously starred in the Lifetime movies Stolen By Their Father: The Lizbeth Meredith Story (2022); Reindeer Games Homecoming (2022), which she also wrote; Twinkle All the Way (2019); and Christmas Pen Pals (2018).
How She Caught a Killer premieres Saturday, Aug. 19 at 8p/7c on Lifetime.
