Kenya Barris and Eva Longoria are currently in talks to develop a new series titled Brown-ish for ABC.

ABC Entertainment and Hulu Originals President Craig Erwich said Tuesday the two have been discussing a Black-ish spinoff that would focus on a Latinx family.

Brown-ish is still a concept that is in development, we haven’t rolled out the firm plans around that yet,” Erwich told Deadline.

“When we talk about the world of Black-ish, there are so many different iterations that we are open to; it’s really up to Kenya who is the master and the captain of the franchise,” Erwich continued.

Brown-ish could be the fourth spinoff to come out of the Black-ish franchise. Freeform’s Grown-ish, which stars Yara Shahidi, was the first spinoff from the series and premiered in 2018. Mixed-ish was on ABC for two seasons before getting canceled this month.

A third spinoff is in development titled Old-ish. That series would star Laurence Fishburne and Jenifer Lewis, but Erwich said ABC currently has “no current plans to make it as a pilot.”

Some users on social media are ready to be done with Barris’ various spinoffs.

Following the news, Twitter user @ohheysimone tweeted: “It’s time to abol-ish the Kenya Barris industrial complex.”

Added @jean_margaret11 on Twitter: “Ban-ish the Kenya Barris thought process.”

Twitter user @PanAfricanGiant wrote , “Kenya Barris needs to be defunded too.”

While Twitter user @EM0VISION tweeted, “I need to know who keeps giving Kenya Barris the green light for these shows.”

As previously reported, Black-ish will end after its upcoming eighth and final season on ABC.
