Saturday Night Live featured a Kenan & Kel reunion, with Keke Palmer in the middle of all the drama.

The sketch centered on Palmer — this weekend’s SNL host — pitching a dramatic reboot of 1990s comedy Kenan & Kel.

Palmer told Kenan Thompson she was a big fan and had an idea for a show they could team up on.

“I thought it was going to be a Jordan Peele-produced streaming series,” a disappointed Thompson said in a confessional interview.

“I had already sold the show before I even met Kenan,” Palmer admitted. “I told the producers we wrote it together.”

The reboot of the Nickelodeon sitcom featured Thompson still working at the classic Rigby’s store, with Palmer by his side.

When things went awry in the store, Palmer dropped a bombshell on Thompson, revealing she was pregnant with his baby.

“Keke was gunning for an Emmy,” Thompson said about the unexpected twist.

SNL‘s Devon Walker performed an impression of Kel’s famous Good Burger quote, but Thompson quickly shut him down. “I think we already found someone,” Thompson said.

Suddenly Kel Mitchell walked in. Just like old times, he headed over to the orange soda case.

Cue the dramatic turn. Once Mitchell and Thompson started to catch up, an armed robber stormed in. Mitchell tried to scare the robber off with his karate moves. Unfortunately, he couldn’t dodge a bullet and was shot.

As he bled out on the floor, Palmer dropped another bombshell — Mitchell was actually the father of her baby.

In real life, Thompson and Mitchell may be making another movie together. In July, Thompson revealed a sequel to Good Burger is in the works.
