Keke Palmer Reveals Pregnang SNL

The internet rumors are true — Keke Palmer is expecting a baby.

The Nope actress confirmed she’s pregnant during her opening monologue this weekend on Saturday Night Live.

“I’m especially glad to be here because there’s some rumors going around. People have been in my comments saying, ‘Keke is having a baby. Keke is pregnant.’ Well, I want to set the record straight, I am!” she said.

She then opened her blazer to reveal a pregnancy bump.

“I gotta say though, it is bad when people on the internet spread rumors about you, y’all. But it’s even worse when they’re correct,” she said. “I was trying so hard to keep it on the down low because I’ve got a lot of stuff going on.”

“People kept coming up to me saying, ‘congratulations.’ I was like, ‘can y’all stop. I’ve got a liquor sponsorship on the line,'” she quipped. “Let the check clear, then we can get to the damn baby shower!”

Although she admitted not everyone has been excited to learn she’s pregnant.

“Some people feel a little weird about me having a baby because I was a child actor. I just want to say I’m 29. I’m grown. I have sex. I own a home. I stormed the Capitol on January 6 — you know, the things adults do. I’m kidding,” she added.

Palmer has been quietly dating Darius Jackson, an aspiring actor and the younger brother of Sarunas Jackson, who appeared on the HBO series Insecure.

Before her big reveal, Palmer showed off her impersonations of Laurence Fishburne and Aziz Ansari, and talked about what it was like as a child actor to work with Fishburne on the 2006 film Akeelah and the Bee.

She concluded by saying, “When I first got into comedy and I dreamed of standing on this stage, I asked myself, ‘Keke who will you be? Will you be like a Maya Rudolph, Eddie Murphy, a Kristin Wiig type?’ Now that I’m here, I can tell you exactly who I am. Baby, I’m Keke Palmer!”

This was the singer and actress’ first time hosting SNL. SZA was this weekend’s musical guest.
