As rumors swirl about a possible Real Housewives of Atlanta reboot, Kandi Burruss has added her voice to the debate.
The longtime RHOA cast member was asked about the casting chatter during a recent interview with IHeartRadio host Tyrik Wynn. Kandi didn’t seem all that concerned about reports claiming producers plan to cut the entire cast.
“My response is, do whatever they need to do,” the singer-songwriter and entrepreneur quipped.
“I’ve been out here 14 seasons, right? So, I’ve seen different cast mates come and go. Some I was sad to see go. Some I’ve seen go and come back. And I know people constantly need to see change to feel like they’re getting something. So, if they feel like they need to make changes, then find a cast that you think is going to work,” she said.
“Do I think they’re going to find a whole cast of people that’s going to work and satisfy our fans? Probably not,” she explained. “Y’all just don’t understand, it’s hard to find one new person a year.”

She revealed a potential new housewife was brought in to test this year, but never appeared on the show.
“It didn’t work out,” Kandi shared. “Y’all never saw the person.”
The current peach holders are Kandi, Kenya Moore, Shereé Whitfield, Drew Sidora, Marlo Hampton, and Sanya Richards-Ross.
Season 15 of RHOA debuted in May 2023, and several outlets reported the premiere brought in a disappointing 834,000 viewers and a 0.28 rating in the key demo. The ratings continued to fall throughout the season.
Some fans complained on social media that the show has lost its spark and needs a reboot.
In June, Radar Online reported the “cast are concerned about being axed due to poor ratings.”
Even former housewife NeNe Leakes took a jab at the show. In a July podcast interview, Leakes joked about RHOA‘s ratings and said the Bravo series “seems like it’s tumbling down.”
In August, a RHOA insider told Urban Hollywood 411 “no decisions have been made” about the season 16 cast.
A house cleaning isn’t unheard of at Bravo. The network rebooted The Real Housewives of New York in 2022, after conflicts erupted on the show involving race and religion, prompting fans to demand changes.
For now, RHOA fans will have to wait and see what happens.
