Julius Onah to Direct ‘Captain America 4’ Starring Anthony Mackie

Marvel Studios has found a director to bring Captain America 4 to the big screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, which broke the news on Friday, Julius Onah has inked a deal to helm the fourth film in the Captain America franchise.

Nigerian-American filmmaker Onah previously directed The Cloverfield Paradox (2018). His other directing credits include Luce (2019), The Girl Is in Trouble (2015), short films and music videos.

Anthony Mackie will lead the cast of the Marvel saga after becoming Captain America on Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Mackie first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In that film, he played Sam Wilson, AKA The Falcon, a veteran who helped Chris Evans’ Captain America no matter the cost.

The  Falcon and the Winter Soldier writer and creator Malcolm Spellman is penning the script for the new movie along with series staff writer Dalan Musson.

Details on Captain America 4 are scarce but Marvel may soon share some new information at San Diego Comic-Con, which runs from July 21-24.
