John Legend will be hosting a half-hour special for OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network titled Revisiting Underground following the Jan. 5 premiere of Underground on the network.

Legend served as an executive producer on the series when it aired from 2016 to 2017 on WGN America. He will now sit down with fellow executive producers Misha Green (Lovecraft Country) and Joe Pokaski (Cloak & Dagger), as well as the cast and crew, to share personal stories about working on the show and how Underground continues to be relevant today.

“Grounded in this moment of cultural shift, Revisiting Underground reminds us of the importance of taking history off of the shelves and bringing it into our daily lives,” OWN said in a press release.

Revisiting Underground is part of the “newly filmed episodic introductions by cast members, never-before-seen behind the scenes footage and more” OWN previously announced after it acquired the historical drama from Sony Pictures Television.

Underground is set in the late 1850s before the Civil War, and stars Aldis Hodge (Hidden Figures) as Noah, a slave, who aims to lead a small group of fellow slaves from the Macon plantation outside Atlanta to freedom through the Underground Railroad.

Underground on OWN will begin airing Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The Revisiting Underground special will air immediately after the extended premiere episode at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT.
