HGTV has plans for a new home improvement show set in Detroit.
The network just greenlit Condemned, a series featuring investor Kristyn Patterson and her builder father, Pancho Patterson (shown above).
They will attempt to rehabilitate houses destined for the wrecking ball while facing off with squatters living in the abandoned homes, bad weather and Motor City regulators.

Condemned is produced by Crazy Leg Productions. Eight one-hour episodes have been ordered for the series, which is expected to debut this summer.
“Kristyn and Pancho have a tangible passion for Detroit and the necessary skills, grit and humor to renovate crumbling homes no one else will touch,” Loren Ruch, HGTV’s head of content, said in a press release. “Our cameras will follow the highs and lows as they grow their family business and prove that no home is too far gone.”
The Pattersons were previously featured in the 2022 HGTV series I Bought a Dump … Now What?
On that show, they were tasked with renovating a home in 90 days.
The Pattersons and Condemned are just the latest HGTV show focused on Detroit. The Motor City has been featured in such HGTV shows as Nicole Curtis’ Rehab Addict, Bargain Block with Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas, and Steal This House, starring former WRIF “Rock Girl” Cristy Lee.
