In a short trailer, the various characters help share the news that the series is coming back. Michelle Buteau’s Bree says in the video, “Oh my God. Hell to the yes!”
The comedy stars Buteau, Ryan Michelle Bathe, Jill Scott, Michelle Mitchenor and RonReaco Lee, as it follows a group of women dealing with their lives both personally and professionally.
Essence Atkins, Deborah Cox, Gary Dourdan, Jordan Carlos, and Mikhail Keize joined the cast in recurring roles in the second season.
The series from creator Tracy Oliver is an adaptation of the 1996 film by the same name featuring Diane Keaton, Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn. Similar to the film, the women on the TV reboot band together through sisterhood despite the lows in their marriages.
First Wives Club was one of the original offerings when BET+ launched in September 2019. Among the other original content on the platform are the two Tyler Perry series, The Oval and Sistas.
A premiere date for season 3 of First Wives Club will be announced later.
