Eddie Murphy returns to the 90210 and no one is safe, in the official trailer for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.
In the video released Thursday, May 23 by Netflix, Detective Axel Foley (Murphy) is back on the beat in the long-awaited fourth installment of the buddy cop franchise.
After his daughter’s (Taylour Paige) life is threatened, Foley teams up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), and his old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to uncover a conspiracy.
Foley steals a helicopter, but it crashes onto a golf course and lands the rogue Detroit cop in police custody.
“This is very embarrassing,” Foley says as he’s handcuffed and placed in the back of a mini squad car. “Part of me would rather get locked up than get put in this little Fisher-Price looking squad car. Y’all are the LEGO cops.”

Mark Molloy directs from a script written by Will Beall, Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten. Jerry Bruckheimer, Eddie Murphy, Chad Oman, and Melissa Reid are producers.
The first film in the franchise was released on Dec. 5, 1984. It earned $316 million worldwide. Thanks to the popularity of that film, parts two and three landed in theaters in 1987 and 1994. Combined, the franchise earned over $700 million worldwide. The movies also made Murphy a global superstar, with talks of a sequel since the mid-’90s.
Fans won’t have to wait much longer to see Foley back in action because Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F premieres July 3, 2024 on Netflix.
