A crew member working on the set of Marvel’s upcoming Wonder Man series was killed Tuesday in Los Angeles.

Paramedics responded to a call for a man injured in a fall in the 4000 block of Radford Avenue at about 6:45 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The location is on the CBS Radford Studios lot in the Studio City neighborhood of L.A. The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The victim was later identified as Juan Carlos Osorio, 41, of Temple City, California, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

Deadline, which was the first outlet to report the news, said Osorio was a rigger — someone who sets up equipment for lighting and scenery on a set.

Osorio died after falling off of high rafters.

Filming was not in progress at the time of the accident and production was stopped for the day.

Marvel expressed condolences to Osorio’s family in a statement.

“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and friends, and our support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this accident,” a Marvel representative said.

Wonder Man was announced in 2022.

The Disney+ series stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, who transforms into the titular superhero.

New Orleans native Abdul-Mateen previously appeared in Baz Luhrmann’s Netflix musical drama series The Get Down and in HBO’s Watchmen, which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award.

The cast of Wonder Man also includes Ben Kingsley, Demetrius Grosse, and Ed Harris.

Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed the 2021 Marvel film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is developing Wonder Man with head writer Andrew Guest.

The series was delayed because of last year’s WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Filming is expected to start next month and a release date will be announced soon.
