CeCe Winans Delivers Soulful Performance on ‘CMA Country Christmas’ (Video)

CeCe Winans brought joy and soul to ABC’s CMA Country Christmas.

The gospel music legend performed a soulful rendition of “Joy To The World” on Tuesday night’s broadcast.

Wearing a patterned high-low dress with white boots, the 15-time Grammy Award winner had the audience clapping and singing along.

A gospel choir, also dressed in white, provided backing vocals and danced to the music.

At the end of the song, Winans and the choir received a standing ovation from the audience.

CMA Country Christmas was filmed in Nashville, Tennessee, ABC said in a press release.

The annual broadcast rings in the holiday season each year with festive performances by popular artists.

Other musical acts taking the stage on this year’s broadcast included For King + Country with Carin Leónnwho performed “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” Cody Johnson performed “White Christmas.” Ashley McBryde and Brittney Spencer sang “Man With The Bag,” and Jon Pardi performed “400 Horsepower Sleigh.”

The first special aired in 2010. Now in its 15th year, the 2024 broadcast was emceed by returning hosts Amy Grant and Trisha Yearwood. Grant took the stage to perform “Tennessee Christmas” and Yearwood belted out a medley of Christmas songs.

CMA Country Christmas was produced by the Country Music Association. Robert Deaton served as executive producer. Milton Sneed directed and Jon Macks was the writer.

Starting Wednesday, the special will be available to stream on Hulu and Disney+.
