Kendrick Lamar dominated the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards.
The Compton rapper, who did not attend the ceremony, won eight awards.
Metro Boomin and Future followed with three awards, while The Alchemist secured two wins.
Houston rapper Travis Scott was honored with the coveted I Am Hip Hop Award. After taking the stage, Scott told the audience to never give up on their dreams.
“I just want to let everybody know where you come from doesn’t really matter,” he said. “What goes on in your brain can take you to the next level and beyond. With true focus, true drive and real surroundings, you can go wherever the f–k you want to go.”

The awards were taped in Las Vegas and aired Tuesday, Oct. 15 on BET.
Fat Joe, who served as the evening’s host, kicked off the show by performing his 2006 single “Make it Rain.”
2 Chainz delivered the finale by performing his hit tracks “Birthday Song,” “I Luv Dem Strippers,” and “I’m Different.”
The broadcast also included a message from U.S. Rep. Steven Horsford (D-NV) about the importance of voting, with the presidential election just three weeks away.
