Comedian Patricia Williams is going from the comedy stage to the courtroom for the new BET series Ms. Pat Settles It.

The judge show will find Williams (The Ms. Pat Show) taking “center bench” as she assembles a jury made up of her friends, family members, and guest stars who  tackle real cases. While she’s not a lawyer or judge, BET says Ms. Pat has a “unique ability to deliver candid, humorous, and heartfelt judgments.”

In a promo posted to Instagram on Sept. 20, Ms. Pat explained: “I will be bringing the realness with some off-the-wall cases.”

The show will feature a lineup of celebrity guest jurors, including Ray J, DeRay Davis, Carmen Barton, Jordan E. Cooper, Jasmine Luv, and more.

BET announced in a press release, “Each case revolves around family and relationship dynamics. Viewers will witness everyday people grappling with real-life problems who willingly accept Ms. Pat’s verdict as binding. Each case traverses the fine line between intense drama and uproarious comedy, mirroring Ms. Pat’s own life experiences.”

The show is executive produced by Williams. Additional executive producers include Sallyann Salsano, Dave Hamilton, Ebony McClain and Frank Miccolis for 495 Productions. Tiffany Lea Williams, Angela Aguilera, Kelly Gould and Ashley Taylor serve as executives for BET.

The series is the first unscripted project to come out of Ms. Pat’s overall deal with BET.

Ms. Pat Settles It premieres with back-to-back half-hour episodes on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 10 pm ET/PT.
