Former President Barack Obama was among the winners Saturday night at the 2022 Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.
Obama won the outstanding narrator Emmy for the Netflix documentary series, Our Great National Parks. The series shines a spotlight on national parks and is produced by Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama for their Higher Ground production company.
The Emmy is Obama’s latest award after previously picking up two Grammys in the best spoken word album category.

Also Saturday night, the late Chadwick Boseman won the outstanding character voiceover Emmy for his voice work on the Disney+ and Marvel Studios animated series “What If…?”
Boseman voiced the Black Panther character T’Challa in the series that explores what would happen if famous events from the Marvel Cinematic Universe played out differently. The series marked Boseman’s final appearance in the MCU after his death in August 2020, at age 43 following a battle with colon cancer.
His widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, attended the ceremony at the Microsoft Theater and accepted the award.
“When I learned Chad was nominated, I started thinking of everything that was going on in the world and our world and being so in awe of his commitment and dedication and what a beautiful moment that one of the last things he would work on was something so important to him and to the world but also something new,” she said. “You can’t understand your purpose unless you ask what if? What if the universe is conspiring in my favor? What if it’s me? Chad would be so honored and I am honored on his behalf.”
