Marvel is giving fans a preview of Chadwick Boseman’s last performance as T’Challa in the new animated series What If…?
The studio released a two-minute trailer on July 8, featuring Boseman as the popular Black Panther character. What If…? explores what would happen if major moments from the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) played out differently.

Jeffrey Wright leads the cast as The Watcher, who narrates the series. In addition to T’Challa, Peggy Carter, Doctor Strange, Killmonger, Thor, Ant-Man, and more characters appear on the show.
The animated adventure is directed by Bryan Andrews with AC Bradley as head writer. What If…? arrives on the Disney+ streaming service starting Aug. 11, with new episodes on Wednesdays.
This will be Boseman’s final appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after his death in August 2020, at age 43 following a battle with colon cancer.
