Two years after he made headlines for an “entanglement” with Jada Pinkett Smith, August Alsina has seemingly come out as gay.

On the Nov. 21 episode of VH1’s reboot of The Surreal Life, the R&B singer said love had come into his life in a “new way.”

“My life has kind of changed drastically and this show has kind of been a catalyst to that because of the fact that I had so much fear going into this journey. So much fear that I can feel my hand shaking right now, because of being put outside of my comfort zone,” the “Make It Home” singer explained.

Alsina, 30, added that he was thankful to be part of the show and said the experience “taught me love in so many different forms and facets.”

“And then, what do you know, love showed up, but in a new way. I want to share that and really honor the person that I love and that loves me back and teaching me so much about love and healing. I want to do that in front of the world because it defies all the constructs that one would say love is supposed to be or love should look like,” the singer continued.

The New Orleans native then embraced a man who was standing nearby and told him, “I love you.”

While the singer did not confirm the two are in a relationship, many viewers interpreted the scene as Alsina announcing he’s a member of the LGBTQ community.

“August Alsina coming out was not on my 2022 Bingo Card! But, I’m proud!” @TheKalenAllen tweeted.

“Shoutout to August Alsina for living his truth,” added @djkaytastrophe on Twitter.

But some viewers weren’t convinced.

“Did I watch the same video of August Alsina as everyone else because, when did he say that he was gay? I thought he was showcasing different forms of what love could look like (bromance),” @OutOfTye tweeted.

“Gay or not. Boyfriend or not. I’m glad August Alsina is choosing this show to give people insight on how challenging his journey of healing has been. This man has been through hell and back, so I’m glad he found love again in someone,” @geeondruh tweeted.

So far Alsina has not commented on social media about fan reaction to the episode.
