After facing anger from fans over the way he treated Garcelle Beauvais on last week’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion, Andy Cohen admits he should have been “more in tune with her feelings.”

“I really need to sincerely apologize,” Cohen said Monday on SiriusXM’s “Radio Andy,” as captured by the
Queens of Bravo Twitter account. “Not only for diverting the topic, but for not returning, even worse, to the serious conversation that was at hand.”

The trouble started on Oct. 19, during part two of the RHOBH season 12 reunion. Lisa Rinna revealed she was the one who took a picture of Beauvais’ memoir “Love Me as I Am” in the garbage earlier this year, not Erika Jayne, who later posted the pic on social media.

Beauvais became visibly upset during the discussion. Instead of acknowledging her feelings, Cohen jokingly asked Rinna, “Do you recycle?”

Viewers immediately took to Twitter to complain about the RHOBH reunion host and executive producer.

“Andy Cohen really is the PROBLEM here, my heart breaks for Garcelle, that was so cruel. #rhobh #RHOBHReunion,” one person tweeted.

Another added, “Andy is not holding these ladies feet to the fire & its annoying af. How we go from Erika & Rinna throwing Garcelle’s book in the trash to ‘do you guys recycle?'”

Another person brought up NeNe Leakes’ now-settled RHOA discrimination lawsuit, and said race was a factor in Cohen’s treatment of Beauvais.

“Nene was absolutely right – Andy Cohen is the problem here. He treats white women differently. Remember how stern he was when he was discussing Candiace’s posts on Instagram?? Where was the energy for Rinna?? Disgusting!” the viewer tweeted.

Cohen said Monday he has “deep admiration” for the Coming 2 America actress and should have been more respectful. He added that he reached out to Beauvais after the show.

“She and I had a really good, productive conversation last Thursday, and I should have been more in tune with her feelings… I’ve been logging in and I get it.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion continues on Wednesday at 8/7c on Bravo.
