Abbott Elementary star Tyler James Williams and Nashville alum Hayden Panettiere go on a car ride from hell in the first trailer for Lionsgate’s Amber Alert.

The intense trailer starts with the kidnapping of 7-year-old Charlotte Bryce and then it cuts to Jaq (Panettiere) in the backseat of a car being driven by rideshare driver Shane (Williams).

Both get Amber Alerts on their phones about the missing little girl and then notice the kidnapper’s car is right in front of them. It’s now a cat-and-mouse game between the two and the kidnapper.

“If we don’t find him, she’ll be gone forever!” Panettiere says.

“We’re doing like 100 miles per hour. If he sees us, he could do something crazy!” Williams warns.

To promote the upcoming thriller, Williams and Panettiere spoke with People.

“I can definitely say that I’ll never look at an Amber Alert the same way again after filming this movie,” Panettiere told the outlet.

While Williams said Amber Alert, “Will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. The stakes couldn’t be higher.”

The film also stars Saidah Arrika Ekulona and Kevin Dunn.

Kerry Bellessa is the director as well as the co-writer and producer.

It’s worth mentioning, that the upcoming film is actually a remake of Bellessa’s  2012 film of the same name. Though in the original, the film centered on a group of friends and was a found footage-styled thriller.

The other producers include Joseph Restaino, Tony Stopperan, Leal Naim, and Summer Bellessa — who starred in the 2012 version as one of the main characters.

Amber Alert is set to be released in theaters and on-demand on Sept. 28.
