ABC Sets Winter Premiere Dates for ‘Black-ish’ and ‘Promised Land’

ABC has unveiled its primetime winter lineup, including the premiere dates of Black-ish, Women of the Movement, Abbott Elementary, and Promised Land.

Black-ish returns for its eighth and final season on Tuesday, Jan. 4, followed by hip-hop drama Queens that same night.

Quinta Brunson’s workplace comedy Abbott Elementary, about a group of teachers navigating the halls of their school and life, will have a special early premiere on Tuesday, Dec. 7, before it returns for all-new episodes on Jan. 4 in its regular time slot, ABC announced Monday.

Women of the Movement, on the events following Emmett Till’s 1955 death in the Jim Crow South and his mother’s fight for justice, will debut on Thursday, Jan. 6. The six-episode limited series stars Tony Award-winning actress Adrienne Warren as Mamie Till-Mobley and Cedric Joe plays 14-year-old Emmett Till.

Promised Land, a new drama about two Latinx families vying for wealth and power in California’s Sonoma Valley, premieres on Monday, Jan. 24. The series stars John Ortiz and Christina Ochoa, and is written by Matt Lopez and directed by Michael Cuesta.
