Classes could soon resume at Hillman College in a sequel to A Different World.

Netflix is developing a follow-up to the hit 1980s sitcom, Variety reported on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

The potential series would center on the youngest daughter of Whitley Gilbert (Jasmine Guy) and Dwayne Wayne (Kadeem Hardison), who is now a student at Hillman, a fictitious HBCU.

The sequel comes from writer Felicia Pride (Grey’s Anatomy, Queen Sugar).

Other members of the creative team include A Different World producer and director Debbie Allen, as well as the original show’s producer Tom Werner, and writers Reggie Rock Bythewood and Gina Prince-Bythewood. They’ve all been tapped to serve as executive producers on the sequel alongside Pride and Mandy Summers.

The original sitcom ran for six seasons between 1987 and 1993 on NBC, and was a spinoff of The Cosby Show.

The spinoff followed Lisa Bonet, who reprised her role as Denise Huxtable from The Cosby Show, as she went off to college. Bonet left the series after the first season.

The ensemble cast also featured Jasmine Guy, Kadeem Hardison, Marisa Tomei, Dawnn Lewis, Sinbad, Darryl M. Bell, Cree Summer, Glynn Turman, Jada Pinkett Smith, Mary Alice, and Lou Myers.

Additional details on the sequel will be released later.
