Whoopi Goldberg was absent from the year’s first episode of The View after testing positive for COVID-19.

Goldberg’s co-host Joy Behar broke the news to viewers on Monday morning.

“Whoopi unfortunately tested positive over the break but she’ll be back probably next week but since she is vaxxed and boosted, her symptoms have been very, very mild,” Behar said.

While Behar spent the day at ABC’s Manhattan studios, she was joined remotely by fellow The View co-hosts Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and guest host Ana Navarro.

Hostin shared that she also tested positive during the holidays but only experienced cold-like symptoms because she is vaccinated and boosted.

“I didn’t feel great honestly, and it just goes to show you the vaccines and the boosters do work and make sure that you’re not hospitalized for something like this and it makes sure that you don’t die from something like this,” Hostin said.

Meantime, Navarro shared on the show that her father tested positive for the virus around Christmas but was able to fly to see her for New Year’s Eve after testing negative.

Behar added that she canceled her Christmas party with the recent Omicron surge in the U.S.

Golderberg is one of the latest celebrities to test positive for COVID.  Last week, LL Cool J canceled his New Year’s Eve performance in Times Square after testing positive for COVID-19.

The Sister Act actress has not yet made a public announcement on her social media channels since testing positive.
