‘When They See Us’ Wins Big at Critics’ Choice Awards – Complete Winners List

Ava DuVernay Wins Critics Choice Award (The CW)

The Critics’ Choice Awards were handed out Sunday night in Santa Monica, with Ava DuVernay’s When They See Us named Best Limited Series.

Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood won the Best Picture award, and Jordan Peele’s Us was named Best Sci-Fi or Horror movie.

Dolemite Is My Name picked up the Best Comedy movie award, and the film’s star Eddie Murphy received the Lifetime Achievement honor during the ceremony hosted by Taye Diggs.

“To make your living making people laugh is the highest blessing on Earth,” Murphy said in his acceptance speech.

“I’ve played everything: a cop, a robber, a doctor, different ethnicities, animals,” Murphy jokingly added. “I’ve been a donkey. I’ve even played a spaceship once. When young actors come up to me on the streets and say, ‘Do you have any advice?’, I say, ‘never play a spaceship.’”

The Critics Choice Association represents more than 400 television, radio and online critics in the U.S. and Canada. Below is the full list of winners from the 25th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards.
