Wendy Williams is stepping back from work to focus on her health.

The news came Thursday via an Instagram post from The Wendy Williams Show, saying the daytime diva would be canceling upcoming promotional appearances for the program.

“Wendy is dealing with some ongoing health issues and is undergoing further evaluations,” the post said. “She will not be able to complete her promotional activities next week, but can’t wait to be back in her purple chair Monday, September 20th for the 13th season premiere.”

Williams, 57, has been open about her health issues in the past.

In May 2020, she took a break from filming the show due to struggles with Grave’s Disease. A spokesperson for the show said at the time the illness was causing fatigue. Williams announced her diagnosis in 2018, after fainting on-air.

In March 2019, the television personality revealed on air that she was living in a sober house to focus on her sobriety.

“For some time now, and even today and beyond, I have been living in a sober house … And you know I’ve had a struggle with cocaine in my past. And I never went to a place to get the treatment. I don’t know how, except God was sitting on my shoulder and I just stopped,” she said at the time.
