Wendy Williams has finally spoken out about why she’s been on medical leave from The Wendy Williams Show

The daytime diva shared a lengthy Instagram post Monday addressing her ongoing medical issues.

“As everyone knows, my health has been a hot topic. I’m making progress but it’s just one of those things that’s taking longer than we expected,” she began.

“I’m a woman of a certain age, and I know enough to listen to my doctors and will return to my purple chair as soon as we all agree I’m ready,” Williams continued before thanking her guest hosts, production team and fans for their ongoing support while she recovers.

Williams did not offer any details on what exactly is wrong, but said she’s doing everything she can to get back to work.

As previously reported, the premiere date for the show’s 13th season was pushed back several times due to Williams contracting a breakthrough case of COVID-19, and complications from her previous diagnosis of Graves’ Disease.

Over the past few weeks, the show has had a flurry of guest hosts filling in, including Leah Remini, Sherri Shepherd, and Whitney Cummings.

This week, actor and comedian Michael Rapaport sits in the purple seat, while actor and comedian Bill Bellamy (The Bounce Back) hosts Tuesday, Nov. 16 to Wednesday, Nov. 17 and Jerry Springer will tag team with fellow daytime host Steve Wilkos from Thursday, Nov. 18 to Friday, Nov. 19.
