Sherri Shepherd will take a seat in Wendy Williams’ famous purple chair for one week next month, as a guest host on The Wendy Williams Show.

The show made the announcement on its official Instagram page Tuesday, and Shepherd shared the news with her Instagram followers.

“I can’t even believe it. I am so thankful Wendy trusted me enough to host her show. And Wendy please get well, because that purple chair — that’s your chair. You’re supposed to be in it. So get well soon, girl,” the actress and television personality said in a video she uploaded. “I am very thankful that the producers are trusting me enough to host for a third time.”

Shepherd will be hosting the syndicated program from Nov. 1 – Nov. 5.

Besides previously guest hosting on The Wendy Williams Show, she has also hosted The View, where she was named a permanent co-host in 2007 before leaving the ABC daytime talk show in 2014. She returned from 2015 to 2016 as a lead contributor, and was tapped this month to sit in on the ABC program.

The week before Shepherd fills in for Williams, comic and actress Whitney Cummings will serve as host.

There is still no official word on when Williams with return, or the current status of her health.

The premiere date for the new season was pushed back several times over the last month due to Williams contracting a breakthrough case of COVID-19, and complications from her previous diagnosis of Graves’ Disease.

When the show kicked off its 13th season this week, a panel of “Hot Talk” co-hosts — TV personality Bevy Smith; comedian and TV host Michael Yo; MTV’s The Challenge Aftermath host Devyn Simone; and entertainment journalist Elizabeth Wagmeister— led the show and welcomed viewers back. Leah Remini is hosting the rest of the week, from Tuesday to Friday.

The show has said guests hosts will continue to be named until Williams is back on air.
