Just three weeks after returning to the airwaves, Wendy Williams is set for another hiatus. But according to show brass, the “planned break” was on the books prior to reports this week claiming Wendy relapsed on alcohol and that her husband Kevin Hunter’s alleged mistress gave birth to a love child.

“The Wendy Williams Show is taking a previously scheduled spring break hiatus and airing repeat episodes during the week of April 1st. The show will return with original episodes on April 8th,” a rep for the show told Urban Hollywood 411 Wednesday afternoon.

The embattled daytime talk show host returned to the show on March 4, following a lengthy absence to recover from Graves’ disease.

Her triumphant return reclaimed her throne — er — purple velvet seat, after being off the air for nearly two months. During her absence, a string of guest hosts filled in, including Nick Cannon, Sherri Shepherd and Jerry O’Connell, who just landed his own talk show.

Williams raised eyebrows last week when she revealed to viewers that she’d been battling an addiction, and has been living in a sober house in the tri-state area for “some time now.”

Over the past few days, the talk show host has been dogged by rumors of personal problems, including tabloid reports that she was “found drunk” on Monday, March 25, and hospitalized.

Page Six reported Williams was “rushed to the hospital” hours after her husband’s alleged mistress gave birth.

“Wendy is not in a good way, everyone is so concerned for her,” a source told the site. “The sad thing is that she’s been working so hard to stay sober and she’s been so honest in her struggles with all her fans, and this just tipped her over the edge.”
