Wayne Brady was involved in a car accident in California that escalated into a “physical altercation” with a man who was later arrested on suspicion of DUI, authorities said.

The situation unfolded on Sunday, Nov. 19, following  a two-car crash in the 21000 block of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to ABC7.

Brady, 51, and an adult male driver got into an altercation around 7:30 p.m., when the Let’s Make a Deal host tried to stop the man from fleeing the scene.

The other driver reportedly took off running when he heard emergency service vehicles approaching with their sirens blaring.

Deputies caught up with the unidentified man a short time later.

He was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, hit and run (property damage only), and battery, the sheriff’s department said.

TMZ, which was among the first outlets to report on the accident, said Brady called 911, but did not require hospitalization following the incident.

The actor, singer and TV host was “banged up and sore” and plans to “take it easy for the time being,” the outlet reported.
