Usher’s halftime show set a new record as the most-watched in history with 123 million viewers, according to Billboard. On YouTube, the performance has close to 30 million views.

Taking the Super Bowl stage to perform chart-topping hits including “OMG,” “Caught Up,” “Yeah!” and “Confession,” Usher brought out several familiar faces during the performance, including H.E.R., Alicia Keys, Lil Jon, Ludacris, and Jermaine Dupri.

Usher and halftime show producers Jay-Z and Jesse Collins are included on the list of Emmy nominees in the variety special category.

Other 2024 Emmy nominees include Sofia Vergara for her lead role in the Netflix limited series Griselda, Donald Glover for his role in Mr. & Mrs. Smith series, and Idris Elba for his performance in Hijack.

Hulu’s hit show Only Murders in the Building received 21 nominations, while FX drama series Shogun picked up a whopping 25 nominations.

When the awards are held in September, it will be the second Emmys ceremony this year. Last year’s awards were scheduled to air in September 2023, but the show was postponed to the beginning of this year due to the Hollywood strikes.

The 76th Emmy Awards will air live on ABC on Sunday, Sept. 15, at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT from the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

The 2024 Creative Arts Emmy Awards are scheduled to take place over two consecutive nights on Saturday, Sept. 7, and Sunday, Sept. 8. An edited presentation will air on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on FXX.
