Complicated judicial cases and decades of friendship are at the forefront of OWN: the Oprah Winfrey Network’s new legal drama Delilah.
The network dropped the first trailer on Wednesday to introduce the series, which follows single mother Delilah Connolly, a headstrong lawyer, who stepped away from working at a demanding law firm a decade ago.
The series is set in Charlotte, North Carolina and was developed by Greenleaf creator Craig Wright.

The trailer starts with Delilah contemplating helping a woman with a difficult case who is in trouble. The attorney now must decide if she should go against her counselor friend and battle it out in court or not. Along the way, drama develops as Delilah starts navigating personal relationships and her family life.
“Now she takes on cases the big firms ignore and finds herself, more often than not, going head-to-head with the powerful and privileged as she fights for the disenfranchised,” the network described in a press release.
Maahra Hill (Black-ish) stars in the title role. Jill Marie Jones (Girlfriends), Susan Heyward (Orange is the New Black), and Ozioma Akagha (Marvel’s Runaways) are also part of the main cast.
Oprah Winfrey and Charles Randolph-Wright serve as executive producers of the series. Delilah is set to be released next month. No specific premiere date has been announced by OWN.
