“No weapon? No problem.” That’s the tagline for a new preview of The Equalizer 3.
The teaser trailer shows Denzel Washington’s Robert McCall getting creative with an unconventional arsenal.
“You seem like a man who understands violence,” McCall is told in the video just before he grabs a fireplace poker to fight off an enemy. Next, he uses his hands, then a wine bottle to equalize a threat.

This third installment of The Equalizer film franchise finds McCall leaving behind his life as a government assassin and jetting off to Italy.
Sony Pictures says this is “the final chapter” of the franchise pairing the Oscar-winning actor with director Antoine Fuqua, after the two previously teamed up on Training Day (2001), The Equalizer (2014) and The Equalizer 2 (2018).
Loosely based on the 1985 TV series created by Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim, The Equalizer 3 is written by Richard Wenk.
Dakota Fanning also stars in the film, marking the first time she’s teamed up with Washington on screen since Man on Fire debuted in 2004, when she was 10 years old.
In a recent interview with Good Morning America, Fuqua said the film will bring something new, but the violence will be “brutal.”
“This is McCall going to Italy to right a wrong and when he gets there, he finds people who need his help,” Fuqua said. “He helps them in a reluctant, brutal way.”
The Equalizer 3 arrives in theaters nationwide on Sept. 1.
