Taye Diggs will play matchmaker to three women in their 40s looking to meet younger men on the Hulu dating series Back in the Groove.

The title is apparently a play on the 1998 film How Stella Got Her Groove Back, which brought Diggs movie stardom with his role as love interest to Angela Bassett.

The actor hosts the four-night Back in the Groove, which is touted as helping women “stuck in the grind of their everyday lives” find romance at a resort in the Dominican Republic.

The women are Sparkle (43, Atlanta), Steph (41, Miami) and Brooke (42, Los Angeles).

Per Hulu: “The goal is to rediscover their youth, live joyously, and hopefully find love with men HALF. THEIR. AGE. As the saying goes, ‘you can’t fall in love with someone else until you fall in love with yourself!’ At the Groove Hotel, these three women will have the opportunity to do both. Whether they find the perfect fling, friendship, true love, or something in between, this is their chance to take charge and break through the double standards older women face every day.”

The series is executive produced by Diggs, showrunner Elan Gale, Bill Dixon, Sonya Wilkes, Evan Wilkes, Michael Krupat, John Luscombe and Shannon Stoeke. It’s produced by Walt Disney Television Alternative and Beyond Media Rights Ltd.

The four-night Back in the Groove event kicks off Monday, Dec. 5 with two episodes on Hulu. Two all-new episodes will be available to stream daily through Thursday, Dec. 8.
