TLC singer Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins is recovering after she was hospitalized over the weekend due to a “medical emergency.”

On Saturday, Aug. 24, Watkins took to Instagram to share a health update with the girl group’s fans.

“I’m on The Mend!!! This Was Just One Of Those Unexpected Things That I Had No Control Over! I Look Forward To Making It Up 2 You All…” she captioned a post that included a press release from the group.

The release said the Grammy-winning duo — which also includes songstress Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas — canceled some of their shows because T-Boz was hospitalized for a “severe abdominal blockage.”

The group added that T-Boz “experienced sudden and severe nausea, vomiting and intense abdominal cramps” after a performance in Toledo, Ohio, on Thursday, Aug. 22.

Per the statement, TLC had just arrived in Syracuse, New York, for their next show when T-Boz fell ill. She was immediately seen by a doctor, then taken to a hospital for evaluation.

The hospital admitted her overnight to undergo a CT scan, prompting TLC to cancel their shows at the New York State Fair in Syracuse on Aug. 23, and at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut on Aug. 24.

T-Boz was expected to be released from the hospital on Sunday, per the statement.

The group said it is “committed to rescheduling the canceled shows” and apologized to fans.

TLC was formed in Atlanta in 1990, and consisted of T-Boz, Chilli, and the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes.

Over the years, they landed several top-ten hits, including the #1 singles “Creep,” “Waterfalls,” “No Scrubs,” and “Unpretty.”

In June 2023, TLC was the subject of the authorized Lifetime and A&E documentary TLC Forever.
