Swizz Beatz is opening up on TV One’s Uncensored about his last conversation with longtime friend and collaborator DMX.
The music producer chronicles his rise from DJing high school proms in the hottest clubs in Atlanta, to working for his uncle’s record label Ruff Ryders, where he became close friends with DMX, Eve and The Lox.
On Uncensored, Swizz Beatz says he was in Saudi Arabia when he received his last call from DMX.
“I just want to be next to you, I just want to be where you at,” DMX told him over the phone. “I’m boring as hell,” the producer recalled responding to his friend.

When his flight landed, Swizz Beatz said he received a text from DMX saying “Man, I just want to tell you I appreciate everything you’ve ever done for me. Want to know I’m super grateful for you, I love you bro.”
“He would do that a lot, but just felt different this time,” the producer said.
Swizz Beatz said that was the last time he talked to DMX before the rapper passed away at age of 50 in April.
The episode will also touch on the “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” producer’s multiple business successes, including his prolific music career working with Jay-Z, Beyoncé, T.I., Drake, and Whitney Houston. He also will tell the story of how he created the popular virtual series Verzuz alongside Timbaland, which puts iconic artists head to head in a friendly competition.
