Surviving R. Kelly: The Final Chapter concluded Tuesday night with interviews and legal documents alleging R. Kelly took pleasure in humiliating young women by making them eat feces.
Several portions of the two-night Lifetime television event included personal accounts from survivors who said the disgraced singer was obsessed with human excrement and allegedly used it as a form of punishment.
Azriel Clary testified against Kelly in his 2021 federal racketeering and sex trafficking trial in Brooklyn, New York.
Transcripts of her testimony were shown on screen in the Lifetime docuseries and included statements from Clary who alleged she was forced to eat her feces and “smear it on my face” as punishment when she did not sexually satisfy Kelly.
One part of the testimony alleged Kelly “directed her to sh-t on the floor,” like a dog.

Jerhonda Pace, another one of Kelly’s accusers, did an in-person interview for the docuseries and alleged Kelly frequently made girls eat his feces to prove their loyalty.
“Once you’ve reached a one year anniversary, that’s what you do — eat his feces and drink urine,” Pace said. “He wants you to prove that you are loyal to him and really loved him, and that you two were bonded. It was something that happened quite often.”
A former member of Kelly’s entourage, whose voice was distorted to conceal the person’s identity, said they witnessed the disturbing practice.
“Robert made one of the girls or a couple of the girls eat his feces,” the individual said. “That was more of a loyalty type of ritual when they had to eat the feces.”

This third and final installment of Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly franchise centered on Kelly’s New York trial. The docuseries also included interviews with the accusers’ families and the journalists who covered the trial.
During the court proceedings, prosecutors gave reporters access to audio from Kelly’s personal collection of sex tapes. While the journalists were allowed to listen to the recordings, they were not allowed to see the images.
“It is probably the most horrific video, or audio from video, that I’ve ever heard in my life,” said Pilar Melendez of The Daily Beast. She went on to describe hearing “urinating” and “slapping sounds” on the recording.
R. Kelly — born Robert Sylvester Kelly — was convicted in New York in September of 2021, and later sentenced to 30 years in prison. The singer maintained his innocence throughout the case.
In September 2022, a federal jury in Chicago found Kelly guilty on three counts of child pornography and three counts of enticement of a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 23, 2023.
The 55-year-old singer still faces state trials in Illinois and Minnesota.

For decades, there were allegations that the Grammy-winning artist had a history of grooming and abusing girls and teenage boys.
He was acquitted by a Chicago jury in a 2008 child pornography trial.
But the allegations received renewed attention after the first installment of Surviving R. Kelly premiered in January 2019.
In 2020, Lifetime followed up the project from filmmaker Dream Hampton with Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning.
The second part included interviews with Kelly’s brothers, who offered new details about childhood sexual abuse in their family. Insiders also alleged the singer paid off more than a dozen girls, with the requirement that they sign non-disclosure agreements.
The final chapter featured interviews with new accusers, including Ebonié Doyle, who said she started dating a much-older Kelly when she was 16 years old. Doyle eventually moved in with the singer and one day discovered his collection of sex tapes. She watched one tape and alleged it showed Kelly abusing an underage Aaliyah.
Doyle said she’d heard rumors that Kelly was also sleeping with his protégé Aaliyah, but he denied it.
“The tape that I put in was of him and Aaliyah, together. What I saw on that tape was he and Aaliyah being intimate. They were on the tour bus, and everything that I had asked him, it was confirmed on the tape,” she said.
When Kelly found out she had watched the tape, Doyle said, “He pushed me down the stairs.”
