The firefighters on Station 19 will answer their final call at the end of season 7.

ABC said Friday, the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff will conclude with its upcoming seventh season.

The network praised executive producers Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers, and said it announced the cancellation now instead later in the season, in order to “allow producers to craft a proper ending.”

“For seven seasons, Station 19 has been a highlight of the ABC lineup thanks to Shonda and Betsy’s incredible vision, beloved characters and compelling storytelling,” Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “We have so much to look forward to, most notably the celebration of the show’s milestone 100th episode.”

It follows the firefighting crew at Station 19 in Seattle, who spend so much time together that they bond and build relationships.

The drama premiered in March 2018. In season 6, it averaged 5.2 million total viewers and a 0.7 demo rating, TV Line reported. Those numbers were down 15 and 22 percent from season 5.

The seventh and final season of Station 19 premieres Thursday, March 14 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
