With the midterm elections just a month away, Saturday Night Live turned its attention to one of the most scandal-plagued politicians in the nation — Georgia’s GOP Senate candidate Herschel Walker.
“Weekend Update” co-anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che both took jabs at Walker, with Jost suggesting the embattled Republican is “trying to lose” the election.
Then it was Che’s turn. “Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker denied reports that he paid for an ex-girlfriend’s abortion, saying, ‘I send money to a lot of people, you know’ … for abortions,” Che quipped.

Still, the comic noted the abortion scandal has had little effect on Walker’s ability to raise money for his campaign.
“After news broke that Walker paid for his ex-girlfriend’s abortion, he raised more than $500,000 — because dollars are the only thing Walker is willing to raise,” Che said to gasps from the studio audience
The two comedians weren’t done skewering the pro-life politician.
Jost added, “Planned Parenthood says it will soon open its first mobile abortion clinic in the country, which will make it easier to provide care to patients anywhere in the country that Herschel Walker has visited.”
Walker, a former NFL star, is trying to unseat Georgia’s Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock. But over the past week, the GOP candidate has repeatedly been pounded by controversies.
The Daily Beast published an Oct. 3 article with claims by an unnamed woman who alleged the athlete-turned-politician gave her a $700 check to pay for an abortion in 2009. Walker denied the claims in the story and said he plans to sue the publication.

Just hours after the article hit the internet, the Senate hopeful’s 23-year-old son — conservative social media influencer Christian Walker — took to Twitter to accuse his dad of lying, skirt-chasing and domestic abuse.
“You’re not a ‘family man’ when you left us to bang a bunch of women, threatened to kill us, and had us move over 6 times in 6 months running from your violence,” Christian tweeted Monday night.
And there was yet another bombshell on Friday. The New York Times published an article saying the woman who accused Walker of paying for her 2009 abortion, has now revealed she got pregnant by Walker a second time and he urged her to end that pregnancy as well, but she refused. The anonymous woman told the Times she had a child by Walker a decade ago, although he’s had little involvement in their now 10-year-old son’s life.
Amid the scandals, Walker’s campaign has fired political director Taylor Crowe. Sources told CNN Crowe was shown the door on Wednesday for supposedly leaking stories to reporters.
