Georgia’s Republican U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker insists he’s been “redeemed” following bombshell allegations from a former girlfriend and his own son.

Walker appeared on Fox & Friends Wednesday morning to address claims he’s a deadbeat dad, who paid for an ex-girlfriend’s abortion, despite running on an anti-abortion platform.

The former NFL Pro Bowl running back is challenging incumbent Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock.

Walker told Fox News host Brian Kilmeade he’s a victim of “desperate” Democrats trying to maintain control of the Senate.

“They see me as a big threat and I know that, and I knew it when I got into this race. But they don’t realize that they came for the wrong one,” he said.

Asked about the growing accusations against him and shown a “get well” card, allegedly sent to his ex-girlfriend after her abortion, Walker questioned whether the signature on the bottom of the card was real. Then he did a quick pivot to say he’s a changed man.

“I’m gonna fight because I’ve been redeemed,” he said. “It’s like they’re trying to bring up my past to hurt me, but they don’t know that bringing up my past only energizes me.”

The interview came two days after the Daily Beast published an Oct. 3 article with claims from an unnamed woman who alleged the pro-life politician, who says he wants to ban abortion in all circumstances, gave her a $700 check for an abortion in 2009. The Daily Beast said the woman provided a $575 receipt from the abortion clinic, along with an image of the signed $700 personal check from Walker, and pictures of the greeting card. Walker denied the claims in the story and said he plans to sue the publication.

Things have only gone downhill for the embattled politician.

The Senate hopeful’s son, 23-year-old conservative social media influencer and podcast host Christian Walker, accused his dad of lying.

Christian, who previously appeared at a campaign event with his dad, dropped a string of accusations against the elder Walker Monday night on Twitter.

“I know my mom and I would really appreciate if my father Herschel Walker stopped lying and making a mockery of us,” Christian wrote on Twitter. “You’re not a ‘family man’ when you left us to bang a bunch of women, threatened to kill us, and had us move over 6 times in 6 months running from your violence.”

Christian’s mother, Cindy DeAngelis Grossman, divorced Walker in 2002.

In a follow-up tweet, Christian added: “I don’t care about someone who has a bad past and takes accountability. But how DARE YOU LIE and act as though you’re some ‘moral, Christian, upright man.’ You’ve lived a life of DESTROYING other peoples lives. How dare you.”

Christian posted two videos online Tuesday and responded to conservatives who insist he’s hurting his dad’s campaign.

“I’ve stayed silent as the atrocities against my mom were downplayed. I stayed silent when it came out that my father, Herschel Walker, had all these random kids across the country, none of whom he raised,” he said. “Family values people, he has four kids, four different women, wasn’t in the house raising one of them. He was out having sex with other women.”

Christian said he only did “one event last year” with his dad when he was told “he was going to get ahead of his past and hold himself accountable.” He added don’t blame him for his father’s floundering campaign.

“I was silent lie after lie after lie. The abortion part drops yesterday. It’s literally his handwriting on the card,” he said. “He gets on Twitter and then he lies about it. OK, I’m done!”

After running neck-and-neck with Warnock, two new polls show Walker’s campaign is suffering amid the negative headlines.

An InsiderAdvantage/FOX 5 poll released Wednesday put Warnock at 47 percent and Walker at 44 percent. The poll of 550 likely voters in Georgia was conducted on Tuesday night and has a margin of error of 4.2%.

Meanwhile, a SurveyUSA poll, also released Wednesday, puts Warnock ahead at 50 percent to Walker’s 38 percent among more than 1,000 likely voters. The poll was conducted between Sept. 30 and Oct. 4.
