It’s probably safe to say Saturday Night Live comedian Michael Che won’t be buying a will.i.am XUPERMASK.

The SNL star mocked the high-tech face mask on Saturday night’s edition of the “Weekend Update.”

“Singer will.i.am announced that he’s developing a new face mask that will come with an air filter, Bluetooth, and noise-canceling earbuds, or hear me out, just get the vaccine, man,” Che said to laughter.

He then suggested the Black Eyed Peas co-founder should spend more time focusing on his music career.

“I like will.i.am, but if you don’t make another hit soon, you’re going to be will.i.was,” Che quipped.

The XUPERMASK comes from a partnership between will.i.am and Honeywell, according to an April 6 press release.

The $299 masks feature “dual 3-speed fans and HEPA filters for enhanced breathability,” along with a 7-hour battery and a bunch of bells and whistles for the post-pandemic world.

Despite Che’s jokes, will.i.am has been busy working as a judge and mentor on The Voice UK, The Voice Australia (2014), and The Voice Kids.

The Black Eyed Peas also released the hit single “Ritmo” for the Bad Boys for Life soundtrack in 2019. And in April 2020, the group dropped the dance track “Mamacita” featuring new lead singer J. Rey Soul and Latin trap singer Ozuna.
