Husband and wife team Russell Wilson and Ciara are starting their own television and film production company.
Wilson, a quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, and pop singer Ciara have named the burgeoning company Why Not You Productions.
The venture — an expansion of their youth-based Why Not You Foundation — will focus on “inspiring and aspiring narratives and human interest stories,” in addition to other unscripted and scripted digital content projects.
“While we work in different fields in our day-to-day, we are excited to come together to collaborate and create stories that we hope will touch people’s lives,” Wilson and Ciara said about the company in a statement to the media.
They continued: “We are both storytellers at heart and we want to be able to share stories that uplift people and inspire others to create positive change. That’s ultimately what we want this company to represent.”

Wilson, who married Ciara in July 2016, also addressed critics who might doubt his creative abilities.
“When people look at me, I hope they don’t just see a football player. I hope they see a person who is innovative and creative, someone who builds something from nothing,” the athlete told The Hollywood Reporter in February.
He added: “We want to be able to impact lives. That’s what we want to do at the end of the day — even from the kids space. We just want to tell stories that connect with the world and to the emotions.”
For Wilson and Ciara, 2019 is shaping up to be a busy year. Wilson recently signed a four-year contract with the Seahawks worth a staggering $140 million and Ciara just released the single, “Thinkin Bout You.”
