Queen of the South is coming back for another season.

USA Network announced Thursday, August 29, the cartel drama has been renewed for a fifth season. The news comes just hours before the season 4 finale.

On the fourth season, drug boss Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga) expanded her empire to New Orleans and Miami. But as her business grows, she faces one of her most formidable (and deadly) adversaries yet, Judge Cecil Lafayette (David Andrews), who essentially runs New Orleans.

Hemky Madera, Alfonso Herrera, Ryan O’Nan, Joseph T. Campos, Alimi Ballard and Molly Burnett round out the main cast.

For its fifth season, Queen of the South will have 10 episodes, instead of the 13 aired in its previous seasons.

Returning characters include Teresa Mendoza, Marcel Dumas, Pote, King George and James who go to war with corrupt New Orleans Judge Cecil Lafayette.

The drama is based on the bestselling book La Reina Del Sur by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, and follows Teresa’s rise from a money counter in Mexico, to a druglord in the U.S., after being forced to find refuge across the border.

The novel was also the inspiration for Telemundo’s popular Spanish-language telenovela by the same name. Telemundo is USA’s sister network under the NBCUniversal umbrella.

Fox 21 Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions co-produce the series. David T. Friendly serves as executive producer alongside co-executive producers and showrunners, Dailyn Rodriguez and Ben Lobato.

The season 4 finale of Queen of the South airs tonight at 10/9c.
