Quavo is “Bad and Boujee” and ready to take Cannes by storm.
The Migos rapper and actor Billy Zane (Titanic, The Phantom) star in the new action thriller Takeover, which was recently acquired by world sales agency 13 Films. The thriller comes from Trioscope Studios.
In a press release to Urban Hollywood 411 on Wednesday, April 30, reps for the film said it will screen for the first time publicly at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Takeover is directed by Greg Jonkajtys (The Liberator, Arka). Jeb Stuart and Brandon Easton wrote the screenplay.
The film follows Guy Miller (Quavo), a parolee trying to rebuild his life when he’s drawn back into Atlanta’s dangerous street racing underworld, according to the official description. “In a desperate bid for survival, Miller is convinced by international heist mastermind Gamal Akopyan (Zane) to pull off a high-stakes diamond heist.”
The cast also includes Serayah (Empire, BMF), LaMonica Garrett (Lioness, 1883), and Martin Sensmeier (The Magnificent Seven, 1883)
The Cannes Film Festival runs from May 13-May 24 in France. Stay tuned for details on when the film will be released here at home.
Quavo, born Quavious Marshall, is a native of Athens, Georgia. He made up one third of the now-defunct group Migos.
The rapper has a growing acting resume. Among his credits are the films Cash Out (2024), Praise This (2023), and Savage Salvation (2022).
