Power Book III: Raising Kanan is set to return for a fourth season in March with more action, crime, and family drama.
This week Starz dropped the trailer for the new season, which opens with Kanan (MeKai Curtis) being asked how he wants people to see him.
“I want them to see me as me, not who my mother is,” he responds.
Season 4 picks up after Kanan declared his independence in season 3, as he becomes more confident as he uncovers the truth about his mother Raquel Thomas (Patina Miller) and himself.
Set in early 1990s South Jamaica, Queens, New York, the series tells the origin story of Kanan Stark from the Power universe and his entry into the criminal world through his mother, who ruthlessly runs the family’s drug empire. The character was first played by franchise executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

According to the official season 4 description: “Kanan’s drug business has hit its stride; Raquel is free of the foes who once plagued her; Lou (Malcolm Mays) has cleansed himself of his demons; the Federal Task Force case against Marvin (London Brown) has become shrouded by Howard’s corruption; and Jukebox (Hailey Kilgore) has chosen a new path away from home.”
But throughout the season, Raquel begins to question whether she can trust her son, now her business partner. As they expand their empire alongside street legends like “Snaps” (Wendell Pierce), “Pop” (Erika Woods), and Italian mob boss Stefano Marchetti (Tony Danza), a resurrected “Unique” (Joey Bada$$) is working in the shadows, seeking vengeance.
In addition to the main cast, season 4 introduces new faces including — Pardison Fontaine as “B-Rilla,” Chris Redd as “Early Tyler,” Sibongile Mlambo as “Imani Okoye,” and Paul Ben-Victor as “Phil Russo.”
The series premiered in 2021 and continues to grow in popularity. Season 3 averaged over 9 million viewers per episode, hitting a high compared to the prior season.
The show is the second spinoff in the Power franchise, with Sascha Penn serving as showrunner and executive producer. Courtney A. Kemp, 50 Cent, and Mark Canton also executive produce, alongside Chris Selak and Kevin Fox.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan returns Friday, March 7, with new episodes available weekly on Starz and its streaming platforms.
