Freddie Lee Trone, the man arrested in Las Vegas in connection with the killing of rapper PnB Rock, is now in custody in Los Angeles on $3 million bail.

Trone, 40, is being held at the Men’s Central Jail in downtown L.A., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department online inmate information portal.

He was arrested in Las Vegas on Sept. 29, and extradited to L.A. He made a court appearance this week and pleaded not guilty.

PnB Rock, real name Rakim Allen, was fatally shot while having lunch with girlfriend Stephanie Sibounheuang at a Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles in South L.A. on Sept. 12.

Trone and his 17-year-old son are each charged with one count of murder and conspiracy to commit robbery and two counts of second-degree robbery, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release. The son’s name has not been released because he is a minor.

Shauntel Trone, 38, the teen’s stepmom and Freddie Lee Trone’s wife, is charged with one count of being an accessory after the fact. She pleaded not guilty.

“The murder of Mr. Allen dimmed a bright light in the lives of his fans, friends and most importantly his family,” District Attorney George Gascón said in a statement. “The accused individuals’ alleged actions in this case were heartless and cruel and robbed the world of Mr. Allen’s talents.”

Police said a male suspect walked up to the couple, drew a handgun, then demanded jewelry, and shot the rapper after an argument. Rock died shortly after he was transported to an area hospital.

Startled diners witnessed the shooting, which was recorded on the restaurant’s video surveillance system.

TMZ and Fox 11 news reported the teenager allegedly pulled the trigger and his dad drove the getaway car. The father and son are alleged to have burned the vehicle after the crime.

The rapper’s girlfriend posted a location-tagged photo of her meal on Instagram and tagged Rock, prompting speculation that her post led robbers, hoping to steal the rapper’s expensive jewelry, to the restaurant. But Fox 11 reported someone at the restaurant saw the couple arrive and tipped off Freddie Lee Trone.

The teenager and his stepmom were arrested at separate locations in Southern California on Sept. 27, days after the shooting, according to the LAPD.

Freddie Lee Trone fled the state, but was taken into custody in Las Vegas on Sept. 29.

Trone and co-defendant Shauntel Trone are due back in the Compton Branch of Los Angeles County Superior Court hearings on Nov. 18.
