Omarion has landed a leading role in the upcoming AllBlk series Involved.
The dramedy is “loosely based” on the singer and dancer’s life and centers on a boy band star who becomes involved in a “throuple,” AllBlk announced Monday.
The former B2K singer co-created the show and will serve as an executive producer alongside Tommy Morgan Jr., Kevin G. Boyd, Deji LaRay and Michelle Le Fleur.
“When it comes to forming new ideas, establishing new norms and shaping our thinking, nothing affects us more than the images and concepts delivered into our lives on a daily basis by television and film,” Omarion said in a statement. “Just like multi-hyphenated entertainers Jamie Foxx, Martin Lawrence and Will Smith who all have influenced and inspired me and a whole culture, Involved is intended to inspire, shift and impact the culture of American society’s thinking and understanding of special family dynamics.”

Kevin G. Boyd is writing the pilot, which will be directed by Bentley Kyle Evans. Evans and Boyd will serve as co-showrunners.
Involved follows OB Sharp, a boy band superstar since childhood, who “secretly wants to leave the group to be a more present dad and have a better co-parenting relationship with his child’s mother, who lives in his guesthouse with her new boyfriend,” per AllBlk.
OB is best friends with Maya, who is openly bisexual. The dynamic of their platonic relationship eventually changes when they meet Edy, a free spirit with a fluid lifestyle. “Suddenly, OB’s love life gets an extreme makeover, and together, they discover their new normal as a throuple.”
Involved will be produced by AllBlk, an AMC Networks platform featuring content for the Black audience.
“Omarion is an expert storyteller across multiple mediums, and we could not be more excited to further our partnership by helping him bring this story to life on ALLBLK,” said Brett Dismuke, general manager of AllBlk.
