The Verzuz music series was created by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz during the COVID-19 pandemic as a virtual battle between popular artists.
Some of the epic sessions featured Teddy Riley vs Babyface, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, Brandy vs Monica, Chaka Khan and Stephanie Mills, SWV vs XSCAPE, and the late DMX and Snoop Dogg.
Triller acquired the Verzuz platform in 2021. Under the deal, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz became shareholders in Triller’s L.A.-based parent company Triller Network, according to the Los Angeles Times.
