June marks LGBTQ Pride month, and Ray J is calling on his straight male friends and followers to show love for the gay community.

The “Sexy Can I” singer took to Instagram on Monday (June 6) to issue a Pride Month appeal.

“A lot of n-ggas that’s straight, they don’t be trying to shout out to the gay community and all my gay n-ggas the right way,” Ray J said in a video recorded inside a moving car. “So I gotta do it because I wanna make sure n-ggas know that I’m showing nothing but love.”

The Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star then reminded everyone June is Pride Month.

“Listen, I just wanna say that it’s gay pride month. Shout out to all my gay n-ggas. Shout out to everybody in the LGBT community. I told my n-ggas that it needs to be more straight n-ggas giving love to the gay n-ggas and I hate using the N-word but look, it’s serious though,” he said.

Despite the laughable production value and overuse of the N-word, the video did have a positive message about showing love not hate.

If you’re in the Los Angeles area, there’s an all-day Pride Month music event taking place this weekend. The in-person celebration called “LA Pride in the Park” features headliners Christina Aguilera and Brazilian superstar Anitta.

Other performers at the June 11 gathering include rapper CHIKA, trans actress and singer Michaela Jaé “MJ Rodriguez,” Rebecca Black, Bob The Drag Queen, Zolita, Alexander Stewart, Edward Frame, Grag Queen, Allison Ponthier, San Cha, Rossi, Drumaq, Mike Taveira, Boy Untitled, Gess, Malibu Babie, and a special 4-hour DJ set by A Club Called Rhonda. More details can be found on the official LA Pride 2022 website.
