NBC has closed the case on missing-persons drama Found.

The network canceled the series after two seasons, multiple media outlets reported Friday, May 9.

Found centers on public relations specialist Gabi Mosely (played by Shanola Hampton), who uses her crisis management team to find forgotten missing people, usually women and children of color.

Mosely works outside the system and has a chilling secret herself — she was once kidnapped and years later turned the tables on the man who grabbed her by holding him captive in her basement.

The cast also includes Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Kelli Williams, Brett Dalton, Gabrielle Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta, and Karan Oberoi.

Nkechi Okoro Carroll created and executive produces the drama. Additional executive producers include Sonay Hoffman, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, and Lindsay Dunn. Series lead Shanola Hampton is a producer.

The drama premiered in October 2023, and brought attention to the nation’s missing.

NBC renewed the series for a second season in November 2023. At the time, the network said in a press release that Found was the #1 broadcast series among Black audiences and the #1 new drama in the 18-49 demographic.

But the ratings fell in season 2. On Friday, TV Line reported Found is currently averaging 3.9 million total viewers (with delayed playback), down 13 percent from the first season.

The season 2 finale titled “Missing While Dying” is scheduled to air on Thursday, May 15 at 10/9c. According to the NBC Insider blog, the episode will focus on “the most difficult kidnapping situation” Gabi’s team has ever faced.

Found is produced by Berlanti Productions and Rock My Soul Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

NBC also just canceled The Irrational and Suits LA.
