Mary J. Blige is set to executive produce another Lifetime film, this one titled after her hit song Family Affair.
The project is part of the network’s 2025 “Voices of a Lifetime” movie slate.
Family Affair will continue the love story of Kendra and Ben, following Blige’s Real Love and Strength of a Woman movies.

BMF stars Ajiona Alexus and Da’Vinchi will reprise their roles as the central couple.
The previous films explored the ups and downs of young Black love, beginning with 18-year-old Kendra, who embarks on a journey of independence at an HBCU and falls in love with Ben. After discovering the meaning of “real love,” Kendra leaves Ben to pursue her career as a photographer.
Years later, when Ben reappears, Kendra must reconcile her feelings and find her “strength” and accept Ben’s love.
According to the official description of the new project, Family Affair picks up as Kendra and Ben move out of the city in hopes of finally building a life together. With family members around and inserted in their lives, tensions rise as they struggle with fertility issues and Kendra tries to find her footing with Ben’s son Miles. The family must come together to help Kendra and Ben save their relationship and stay true to their real love.
Real Love and Strength of a Woman reached over 6.4 million viewers. Both movies ranked as the top entertainment telecasts on cable for two consecutive Saturdays with women ages 25-54, according to Lifetime.
John Davis and Jordan Davis of Davis Entertainment return as executive producers for the new film, alongside Blige through her Blue Butterfly production company. Bruce Miller and Milana Edwards-Brooks co-produce.
Production on Family Affair begins this month.
