FX has released the official trailer for Kindred, the long-awaited adaptation of Octavia E. Butler’s best-selling time travel novel by the same name.
Mallori Johnson leads the cast of the eight-episode series as Dana James, a young Black woman and aspiring writer who uprooted her life and moved to Los Angeles. But just as she begins to settle into her new home, Dana finds herself being pulled back and forth in time and arrives at a plantation in 1815.
The video shows a terrified Dana transported to a field where slaves are working the land.
“Am I crazy?” she asks.
